WHAT IS SPECIAL
Introduced in 1983, the Ref. 3796 was conceived as a respectful tribute to its predecessor, the legendary Ref. 96, born half a century earlier. It faithfully retained the essential design codes of the original: a slender 31mm round case, a broad and flat bezel, gracefully downturned lugs, and a restrained, elegantly balanced dial.
This exceptionally rare “Pink on Pink” example pairs a warm pink dial with a rose-gold case, the dial’s delicate texture complementing the soft lustre of the precious metal. Compared with the vintage Ref. 96, the 3796 benefits from a sapphire crystal and the more modern hand-wound Cal. 215 movement, making it considerably more practical for regular wear. Yet unlike later generations of the Calatrava, it neither enlarged the case nor altered the classical proportions. It remains remarkably faithful to the purity and understated elegance of the quintessential dress watch.
