WHAT IS SPECIAL

If you collect watches, you eventually want cool complications (functions). If you chase complications, you often end up at split-seconds chronographs. And if you’re serious about split-seconds, sooner or later you discover Eberhard’s extraordinary 1930s creations: pieces with virtually no true competitors.

Why? Among high-grade rattrapantes built on Valjoux foundations, Rolex’s legendary reference 4113 is ultra-rare, astronomically priced, and a massive 44mm. Impressive, but hardly wearable. Universal Genève’s A. Cairelli split-seconds is fascinating with its 24-hour dial, yet its size remains a challenge.

Eberhard strikes the balance. At just 40mm, it delivers presence without excess. The dial designs are dynamic and layered, offering depth, symmetry, and pure vintage character. It feels sporty, elegant, and remarkably modern on the wrist.

This particular example comes from the renowned collection of Goldberger, and was described by him as NOS (new old stock condition). Clean, honest, and beautifully preserved, it represents a rare opportunity to own one of the most compelling and wearable high-complication chronographs of the pre-war era.
